About TranslationOf
We help readers choose among English translations by putting our claims, the passages, and the editions in one place.
TranslationOf is an independent editorial project built around a question that sounds simpler than it is: when several books share the same ancient title, whose English words do you want to read? We begin each guide with a direct recommendation. Then we test it against the same moments in every translation and identify the edition that contains that text.
What we publish
We publish comparative guides, reviews of individual translations, passage tools, and edition records. We treat the translation year, the source edition, and the edition you can buy now as three separate facts. The retailer does not affect what we recommend, and we do not recommend a paperback until its translator, ISBN, and publication record agree.
For now, our guides carry the byline “TranslationOf editors.” Send corrections or editorial questions to [email protected].
