Affiliate disclosure

TranslationOf links to retailers such as Amazon and Bookshop so readers can find the edition we describe. These are ordinary retailer links. We do not currently earn a commission when you use them.

Some links lead to one exact ISBN. Others lead to a retailer search when we have not matched a stable product page. We say which kind of link you are opening.

If we join an affiliate program, we will label every paid link where it appears and update this page before we begin earning commissions. Buying through an affiliate link would not change your price.

Editorial independence

We decide what to recommend before we decide where to place retailer links. A retailer’s availability, affiliate program, or commission rate will not affect our rankings. We may recommend a translation even when no affiliate edition is available. We may also reject a convenient edition if we cannot verify its translator or text.

We will keep commercial relationships out of passage selection, close reading, and our account of each translation’s tradeoffs. If we make a substantial change to this policy, we will date it and explain it on this page.
